The Problem

The admission department at Samford uses audio-video technology to present an extensive library of video content during campus tours and visits from prospective students. The technology in the original office space was failing and causing daily problems for the admission team.

The university decided to renovate an existing building on campus and move the admission department into a new space. A commercial AV systems installation would be needed to meet the team's rigorous demands.

The Goal

  • Educational AV systems needed to be engaging
  • Technology would need to be easy to operate by non-technical staff
  • Audio-Video components need to be reliable
  • The audiovisual systems would need to provide flexibility for a wide range of events

The Result

The new office AV systems at Samford University's Ingalls Hall provide a great experience for both staff and visitors to the campus.

The facility includes multiple conference rooms, huddle spaces, digital signage and interactive displays for way-finding, multiple video walls and a dividable presentation auditorium that seats 100 people.

All of the commercial AV systems were designed to be updated and serviced remotely via MediaMerge's technical team to ensure an absolute minimum of downtime.

The audio-video technology includes:

  • Digital projection
  • Multi-projector edge-blended projection
  • Wireless touch-screen based control
  • Simple wall controls
  • Wireless collaboration/screen sharing
  • Interactive touch screens with custom content
  • Multiple 4-panel video walls
  • A 9-panel video wall
  • Office surround sound system
  • Motorized shades
  • Acoustical treatment

“We are now one year removed from the implementation date, and everything continues to run smoothly. The A/V solution is comprehensive and includes interactive features, multi-screen displays, audio in every space, and it all works together seamlessly in a simple, easy-to-use format.”
